contact foster parent at XXXX@gmail.comDetails: (PERSONALITY/BEHAVIOR)Elliot is probably a mix with Greyhound/Pit and he is the most wonderful boy. Everyone falls in love with him immediately.He just loves his people! All he wants is to be near you. He loves my resident female staffy and is playful yet submissive to her. No tests done with cats as of yet.He is great in the house! no accidents since bringing him home to foster. And he sleeps through the night on a dog bed, no crate necessary.He greets other strangers without jumping and with a friendly demeanor. He takes treats gently, and is quite food motivated. He doesn`t seem to care much about toys yet, but loves his antler and PB kong in the crate. He doesn`t guard his food, or people. He wants all your attention, but when given instruction to give space to the other dog, he does move away. :)He loves to do his obedience work and is currently training on the following commands/behaviors:- Sit (knows well)- Down (knows well)- Place (learning, knows but needs reinforcement/continued training)- Off (learning, honestly we don`t have to do this much)- Kennel-up (knows well) NOTE: he is very comfortable in a XL wire crate.- Car rides (learning, we are currently working on comfort in the crate in the car.)- Come (learning, doing well)- Leave it (learning, doing well)- Leash Walking - Walks without pulling on a flat collar and leash. We are still training with treats and he`s just great.- NO LEASH REACTIVITY at all. An absolute pleasure to walk. Details:(MEDICAL)Elliot is undergoing treatment for heartworms. He began a fast kill treatment on June 12th that involves antibiotics, prednisone and preventatives for 60 days, then a series of 3 injections that occur every 30 days. After that, he will be tested again and hopefully all free of heartworms! He has to be kept pretty calm during the first 60 days as his breathing gets labored if he gets excited. I do my best to keep him from running, jumping or trying to play with my dog. When he feels better, he is going to have some awesome, playful, goofy energy! He is really doing great learning to stay calm and relaxed though. Which I think will be great for him as he grows up.
