Rhea is an adorable 2-3 year old staffie mix. She is special needs as she is completely blind from a disease that caused retinal degeneration. She was recently diagnosed with glaucoma, high blood pressure, and thyroid disease, which she is currently taking medication for. This is controlled but she will need to remain on the medications for life. Rhea doesn’t let her disability slow her down. She still loves to run and play. She does get along with other dogs but they need to have good manners. Rhea needs a home with no small children, a secure, physical fenced in yard, and another calm but playful dog. Rhea has been completely vetted and is currently ready for adoption. **Applications will not be screened if they do not meet the listed requirements.**Adoption processOur adoption process consists of an initial application for the animal of interest, followed by reference checks (both personal and with a veterinarian), a home visit, and finally if approved an adoption contract. All animals are required to be inside companion pets and the owner must maintain veterinary care throughout the life of the animal. Adoption fees are $150 for dogs, unless it is fostered through us for another rescue and $75 for cats. All animals are up to date with vaccinations and spayed/neutered before adoption.Shelter locationArrangements can be made to visit with any of our pets, but because we are foster based and do not have one facility, appointments must be made to do so.
