Hank and his 11 siblings were named after legendary country singers. This is their story: His mother, Mountain Mama, wandered up to a feral horse rescue campsite and quickly befriended the rescuers. She needed help! Soon after, she gave birth to a large litter of puppies. A few weeks later a wonderful thing happened - Mama and her 12 puppies were transferred to an SSR foster. Many of Hank's siblings have been adopted. Hank has been diagnosed with megaesophagus or mega e. This diagnosis should not keep you from adopting this very sweet boy. All that needs to be done is to have him sit up when he eats and for 10 minutes after. He is a champ at taking his pill at every meal. He takes his pills in a syringe after they have been dissolved in water. An elevated water bowl works best for this pup. Hank is a very happy, playful, outgoing puppy. Like all puppies, he loves to play but he can chill out with the best of them too! Won't you consider adopting Hank? He is done with the road shows and ready to settle in his forever home. Once you have submitted your application, a volunteer with call your personal and veterinary references. Following references, SSR will send out a volunteer to conduct a home visit and meet any members of your household. We come to your home and further discuss the adoption process. The adoption application will let us know a little bit about you, your home, your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a companion. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to fill out our application to adopt one of our dogs. Your application will either be accepted or denied after the volunteer submits a home visit report. ADOPTION FEESThere is a non-refundable application fee of $15.Our adoption fee is $300 for dogs aged 6 and under.Our adoption fee is $225 for dogs 7 and up.Shelter locationOnce we begin holding adoption events we will feature them on our website.
