Amos!!! Our 3 legged hero!! When he first came to us his leg was severely injured, and in need of amputation. We have gotten his surgery, and he is recovering so well.!! Sweet boy is really starting to come out of his shell. Loves to sleep on the couch with the other dogs, and is adjusting to a leash. Loves loves loves food, treats, and toys. Would do great in a home with other dogs. Still a little timid around people, but never growls, bites, or snips. He just needs to feel safe and that he can trust you which is to be exiected after all he’s been through He’s around 6 years old and 20 pounds! He will make a great addition to any family! He’s doing great with my other dogs, but he is scared of most other things, especially people. He finally let me pet him, though.Amos will have surgery today and loose his front leg. After his elbow was shattered by a cruel human how thought a bullet was needed he was allowed to suffer for weeks. This made it impossible to save his leg. Poor guy has already adjusted to walking in three legs so this surgery should only improve his current quality of life. Amos will need a foster for a quick recovery period and also learn that he life is good and all humans are not monstersAvailable dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters.The application is the first step. Russell Rescue dogs are fostered in the Middle Tennessee area. We do not ship/transport our dogs, so the approved adopter must be willing to travel to Tennessee. Russell Rescue will try to first place our rescue dogs locally or in surrounding states.Russell Rescue is not open to the public for visiting hours. We do not have a physical location of our own.
