Roxy was rescued from an upstate animal shelter after she had spent about 6 weeks there becoming a favorite of several staff members. As shelters all over California became too full for many dogs to have their hold times extended, we received several pleas for Roxy, who was referred to as a Doberman mix. It was clear she was a special case that everyone there hoped would have a chance at being rescued, and she arrived with us mid-December, 2021. We're not sure this little girl is part Doberman at all, but she is a cute, animated girl with comical ears that will surely get her noticed and, we hope, readily adopted. She's 5-6 years old and on the small side at under 50 pounds.Adoption processWe ask that you bring the whole family (including the four legged) so we can best match you with the right dog. Once you have found your new companion we will have you fill out a one page adoption agreement. All dogs go home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, with a collar, and ID tag. Our donations for dogs may vary depending on gender, age, breed and medical needs. Generally our male Dobermans are $250-300 with possible flexibility for seniors. Our female Dobermans are generally a $350 donation, due to the fact that it is more difficult for us to get spay appointments and therefore, we are paying more for those surgeries at other vet clinics. We have to ask more just to make ends meet for now. Little dogs and non-Dobermans are still generally a $200 donation.Shelter locationWe are located on a small ranch nestled in the orchards of Fillmore, ca. We are open every saturday from 11:00am-3:00pm for open house adoptions as long as you have an approved application. We have to keep visitors to a minimum due to the pandemic. We can arrange weekday or sunday visits by appointment as well.
