Henny, Hen-Pen, Sausage Roll, Doof- face, and Henny-Hen! These are the many nicknames of our sweet boy Henny! Henny is one of those dogs that like an onion, has lots of layers. The first layer was unfortunately built on mistrust. If Henny sees someone new he puts his guard up and will bark and growl. His second layer is his small "sniff of faith" he may not be sure if you are friend or foe but for a small second he is going to try and find out. His third layer, the layer we know best is "Wiggle of approval!" At this point Henny has decided you are not as scary as you first appeared! You gave him a treat or two and he is now your unwavering companion. Showing you his signature booty wiggle! Henny, like most of us has social anxieties that make it hard to meet new people. A-lot of people may think Henny's behavior is aggressive when really he is just scared to let his guard down as to not get hurt. A lot of dogs like Henny come into our care everyday. We don't always know the reason for their fears we can only hope to help them overcome them. So if you are looking to open your home to a new pet, please consider meeting Henny! Once he trusts you you are in for a partner for life!
