Orion is 1.5 to 2 years old, 15.5 lbs. Havanese x. House trained. Smart, obedient, and active. He came from a home with his good friend, 3 year old shih tzu mix Myla. At first he was scared and a bit aggressive at being in a new place. But we let him warm up at his own pace, sitting with him and giving him treats, and now he is very well behaved. He is loving and likes sitting with us on the couch. He also enjoys running around and playing with toys. He will be a good and playful boy when he is settled in a home, though we don't recommend young kids. His old home had teens that he loved. He's done well with the other dogs he's met here (small and medium ones) and wants to play with some of them. He's submissive and non aggressive to them. He doesn't seem as friendly to big dogs. He is not as familiar with them. His previous family gave him and Myla up for financial reasons. They'd gotten him after their neighbors had a litter of puppies that they let roam around, and Orion was the only one friendly enough to catch. We know the value and comfort of a loving pet companion and are doing our best to help the dogs and folks who need them. We update our website daily and are always rescuing, vetting, rehabilitating, socializing.â Are you my furrever family? All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records. Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees for adults start at $150 and usually go up to $750. Young adults that are high in demand may be a little over $750.00. For puppies and purebreds, we charge up to $1000. The lower end is for dogs who have been here a while. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible.
