Description:

Meet HoneyHoney was named because she is as sweet as Honey! This young pup is an absolutelove! Honey was at risk of euthanasia due to over-crowding. We rescued Honey, hermate Scout and another beauty named Dot. They are all safe at our no-kill shelter. We fell in love with Honey from the moment we saw her interactions with people, otherdogs, and kitties! She loves them all. Honey is a gorgeous mixed breed – maybeBoston, maybe Jack Russell, it’s so hard to know. Honey is on the small side at eightmonths she’s only 31 lbs. She may top out at 35 lbs, but she is small and compact. Shehas a gorgeous fawn colored short coat, tall-standing ears, an alert and intelligent faceand an athletic physique. She is stunning!Honey is friendly, affectionate, silly, fun-loving, calm, quiet, gentle, athletic, smart andsooooo sweet. Honey LOVES people, dogs and kitties. Every interaction is fun and shehas an open and sociable personality. She walks well on a leash. She loves hiking, andplaying with toys. Honey loves her mate Scout and will be adopted with her. Honey likes totravel and hike. She’d do great for those adventures out to wineries and cafes. She’lllove to curl up with her people on a comfy couch or a sunny porch. Hard to believe thatsomeone let Honey go, because she is a keeper. We are smitten with this girl and knowthat you will be too.If interested in Honey and Scout, please submit an application online at:https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-applicationOnce an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying yourapplication has been successfully received. The form also assists us with assessing the environment for suitability and safety in the placement of our residents. The application is the first step in the approval process, followed by veterinarian reference check, landlord approval confirmation if relevant and a home visit which may be done physically or virtually depending on the distance from the shelter. The approval process can be initiated either before or after a visit to the shelter to visit our residents. The application for dogs is located on our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/smithgallhumanesociety/photos/a.984873858223547.107374XXXX.548822128495391/1271213192922944/?type=3&theater . For cat application, go to: https://www.facebook.com/smithgallhumanesociety/photos/a.984873858223547.107374XXXX.548822128495391/1271223856255211/?type=3&theater . The forms will be automated for online submission through a new website currently under construction with an anticipated launch date of no later than Nov 2016. Requirements for adoption are specific to the needs of the animal in addition to standard checks for safety issues. Adopters must come to the shelter once approved to take their adopted pet home. We do not ship nor do we transport. Submitting the form is neither a guarantee of adoption nor an entitlement to "first come, first served" in the selection process of safely and appropriately placing our residents. Decision to approve/not approve an adopter(s) is based on the needs of the dog, not the needs of the adopter. The application should be downloaded before printing. The completed form can be returned through Facebook Messages, emailing to: XXXX@windstream.net or delivery to the shelter. The process usually takes 1 to 3 business days but can be slowed by not completing all of the questions, difficulty in reaching people relevant to approval and scheduling a home visit. Our residents must be returned to us at any point in time if the adoption is no longer suitable/safe for the pet or circumstances have changed to where a new home is needed. A contract must be signed to complete the adoption process. Standard fees for dogs are $100 and for cats $85. Some fees are subsidized in various amounts as low as $25 (minimum allowed subsidized fee) for dogs and $20 (minimum allowed subsidized fee) for cats . All of our animals are spay/neutered, have age appropriate vaccines and are free of internal parasites. Dogs are tested for heart worms and put on monthly prevention.
