Adopt Copper a White - with Tan, Yellow or Fawn Retriever (Unknown Type) / Mixed

Location:
Saint Paul, MN
Description:

Size: approx. 45 lbs. Activity Level? Medium high! I need at least an hour of physical activity every day like walks, running around the yard, and indoor playtime. After a while outside my crate I will settle down on the couch and snooze. I would do best in a home with another dog or regular opportunities for open play with other dogs. Noise Level? Almost silent! Whining is rare, barking even more so, sometimes I growl at the cat if I want her to play. Good with Dogs? I love other dogs and would do best with another dog in the home to wrestle, play and generally attach myself to! If I don't have a dog sibling, I probably need at least one or two opportunities to play with other dogs per week. Good with Cats? I give them space when I need to but generally want to play with them more than they want to play with me. Good with Kids? I don't know if I've had experience with kids but I am always very interested in them! Good with Strangers? I love everyone I meet and want to hug them. I need to work on not jumping up and not gnawing on humans like I like to do w my dog friends. Potty Trained? I am excellent at going where I'm supposed to and waiting 'til my foster mom can take me outside. I am a two poops a day kind of guy and have had one peeing accident in the house in my almost 3 months in foster care. Crate Trained? I am generally calm in my crate. I like to nest and have my Kong to gnaw on cuz I'm a chewer. I am very good at relaxing in my crate and snoozing for up to 8+ hours while my foster mom is at work. I have however destroyed about 3-4 beds so far! Shedding? I shed but I enjoy being brushed. About Copper: Hi, my name is Copper, and I came to Minneapolis from Alabama where I lived the first two years of my life outside. You'd never know it though because I am well accustomed to house life, people and pets and I am a fast learner! Some have called me a "velcro dog with no concept of personal space! I'm a big smiler and love attention from anyone. I love walks and being outside and would do best with a human who has a medium to high activity level or another dog. I can reach impressive top speeds when running around the yard, and I would love to have a dog sibling or friend that wants to run with me. I would do best with access to a medium to tall fenced yard because I love to run, jump & dig! I am mouthy when I play and need help learning not to gnaw on people like I do my dog playmates. I am smart and have learned how to change some of my behaviors already with very little work! I know sit and down and am working on "touch. I learned to walk on a leash in foster care super fast with practice and encouragement. I dont have a lot of experience with hanging out outside around other people and dogs, and it makes me very excited so i will need some help adjusting to that and learning to relax when I cant go play with everyone I see. I am sweet and love my people. I love stuffies and balls and my Kong and chewing on them while I sit on the couch. I will do just about ANYTHING for peanut butter and I love eating grasses when outside. One of my best features is my floppy ears and the way they bop around when I walk.
