My name is SHANE. I am just a regular working Joe, looking for a forever home. I am 2 years old, 40 lbs. I have working dog breeds in my pedigree and those instincts have not been bred out of me. I am a confident and loyal companion, but you need to know how to handle a dog. I am not arm candy or some frou-frou house dog show piece. I am a working dog. I can assist you at Lowes. I find bones in the woods. I track chipmunks. I check the perimeter of the property first thing in the morning and again in the afternoon. I am not sure what I am checking for, but I check the perimeter none the less. I’ll hike with you, and I love to play. I am active. I can be a velcro dog if you take the lead. I like to make my own decisions sometimes. I know commands and will respond to them once we develop a mutual respect. If you have a resident dog, he/she will need to be confident and tolerant. I like other dogs, but I like to play my herding game and sometimes I play a little rough. I have lived in many places, some OK and some not so good. I like the foster home I am in now. My forever home will need to be just as good. If you are looking for a partner to be your best mate, I may be the guy for you. But don’t expect me to trust you on day one. I have been in too many bad places to blindly put my trust in people. If you will respect me and are willing to work with me, I will let you into my inner circle – I will be your best friend. SHANE is neutered and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. His adoption fee is $425. Please note that training is strongly recommended for all dogs.
