Baloo is a spry senior who you would never guess is eight years old! He was adopted from PACC years ago and lived in his adoptive home for six years. He was housebroken in that home and was described as protective, sweet, and calm. His person also said that is a low maintenance pup who loves to be brushed. Here’s what some of his friends at the shelter have said:“I met Baloo for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at what a nice, friendly, sweet, well-behaved boy he was. When I first entered his kennel, he was slightly guarded but once I sat down and introduced myself, he quickly warmed up and appreciated my company. He enjoyed being touched all over and was happy and energetic but not jumpy or pushy. I asked him if he knew how to sit for a treat and he immediately did so and seemed proud of himself. He`s food motivated and will work for treats - he takes them gently. You would never know this energetic boy is a senior - he has plenty of spunk. I`m looking forward to taking him out for walks and spending more time with him.”“My first time walking Baloo. He had a calm demeanor and curious expression as I approached his kennel, and I entered his kennel easily. He was calm and kept all four feet on the floor, which made leashing easy. We passed a number of other dogs on our walk and stopped at one point to talk with another volunteer. He was calm and non-reactive for all these interactions. He enjoyed exploring the shoreline and waded into the water several times. He probably would go for a swim if given the chance (his lab genes). He was quite comfortable with touch and checked in regularly (beautiful eyes). He has a good sit and took treats with a gentle mouth. His great behavior was rewarded with treats and affection. Baloo is a well-rounded and affectionate dog who will make a perfect companion for some lucky adopter.”“Unfortunately, Baloo was in a kennel off the adoption floor for 23 days when he first arrived due to the crowded shelter conditions. During that time, this boy was nervous and shy in his kennel. The first day I met him, I took him to the play yard, holding on to his leash as he walked the perimeter. In subsequent walks I took him down to the pond and lake and his entire demeanor changed! He went from having a low, tucked tail to a high, waggy tail! He loves to sniff around the lake and dip his toes in the water. He visibly relaxed the longer he was away from his kennel, his body got more wiggly as he expl
