Molly (aka Abby) is a beautiful 2-1/2 year old female Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on September 11, 2022 for a very sad reason. Molly's beloved owner had passed away recently and there was suddenly nowhere for her to go since out-of-town family members were unable to give her a home. Molly has a brown/brindle short smooth coat with a small patch of white on her chest, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, black shading on her slender muzzle, and large semi-erect ears. Molly is understandably a little bewildered being in a shelter environment since she was accustomed to being in her very own home with a master/mistress who obviously loved her. The family member who brought Molly to our shelter told us that she was good with children and that Molly had been observed with one other dog .. And she played well with that dog. Her original family recommended that Molly be placed in a home with no other animals since she had occasionally exhibited dominant behavior toward other animals. Molly is NOT good with cats and cannot be trusted to be kind to feline friends. Molly is afraid of loud noises such as thunderstorms, fireworks/firecrackers and gunshots. She hides in an attempt to escape those noises. Molly can jump a 4-foot fence when she is inclined to do so. Molly had been kept indoors, and she is housebroken. HSOV Kennel Tech Hayley Sturm accompanied Molly for outdoor glamour photos later in the afternoon on September 11th, and Molly was a wanna-be lap dog in many of her pictures as Hayley lavished attention upon Molly. Molly weighs 70.4 lbs and walked fairly well on a leash. She was wearing a harness when she entered our shelter so she has probably been accustomed to wearing a harness instead of a collar. Molly has already been spayed. She was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on September 12, 2022.
