Adopt PADO (S Korea) hz a Brown/Chocolate Jindo / Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog in

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hello, my name is Pado, I am a 7 year 9 month male Jindo/Shepherd mix that weighs 68 lbs (31 kg) and stands 23 inches high. I was rescued after being seen roaming the streets for quite a long time before being taken to the pound in Dec 2020. WDK received me in Aug 2021 and got vet treatment for me as I was heartworm positive (cleared Aug 12, 2022) and Anaplasma positive. I also have severe dental abrasions with the pulp on many teeth exposed. (Pics available)My handler says I am not shy at all. I actively approach strangers and love it when they give me scratches which I show by wagging my tail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQxGmSK92M4&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajTzqWt2reY&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=3 (I don't like my paws touched though) I even allowed a little boy to pet me the first time meeting him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEayl79L5uY&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=4 Once I get to know someone, I show them my belly in hopes of a belly rub.I am much more interested in humans than other dogs. When meeting a new dog I just mind my business. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z24osbiZ_I8&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=6 . I do show some curiosity when meeting stray cats, but follow directions to go in different directions. My energy level is moderate. At the beginning of walks I seem very excited, but after 5 mins I am much calmer, and get tired easily. I will need some more training to not pull on my leash, and love sniffy walks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWAWbMR7IKg&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=9 . My handler says I learn things quickly and with some training I will make a very well mannered dog. I have not shown any aggression other than the occasional growl (usually if other dogs are barking beside me), have no resource guarding issues towards people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQ-WEV3W8IA&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVfImFbjUPA&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=8 I can growl if other dogs approach when I am eating. There have been no signs of separation anxiety, only bark when I want something (like your attention), am crate trained and do not get car sick.So what do you say? Want a super friendly people pup that will love you and be friendly to everyone we meet? Apply for me today! PS I really am a lovely boy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPBLEHERjp8&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9qxj2JpCR4&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwf152aYQAC3PD8axBxAo89&index=5 Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems!Basic training should be taken seriously and should begin within a few days after arrival. After your dog has settled in, check out courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. HEALTH NOTES:I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.ADOPTION FEE:My adoption fee is $800 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.-------------------------------------Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age.
