Coraline is a gentle giant who will win you over the second you meet her!! This sweet lady has a sad story and is hoping for a brighter future. She was brought to the shelter by an animal protection officer after she was found in a backyard in the summer heat with her puppies, who tragically did not survive. Despite this ordeal, Coraline has shown what a sweet, loving girl she is. She’s a slow- moving, gentle creature who loves treats, giving kisses, playing in the water, and knows sit, down, and how to shake with her big old paws. Here’s what a few of her volunteer friends had to say about her:“I met Coraline for the first time last night and fell in love with this gentle giant of a lady. She`s a bit nervous, so I gave her space in the yard while she got used to me. While I was paying attention to her kennelmate, Coraline quietly walked over and sat in front of me where she accepted pets and treats. She then gently placed her big paw on my leg, so I wondered if she knew any tricks. She does! Coraline does a beautiful sit, shake with either paw, and lay down for treats. She is so gentle and dainty about it all, and takes treats so softly and sweetly. As she became more comfortable, she leaned into me for pets- just a sweet, sweet girl who is very overwhelmed in the shelter.”“I met Coraline for the first time today. We went to the yard where she wandered a bit and then came to me for treats and scritches. I will say that Coraline loves her scritches. She would probably stand in front of me for 20 minutes if I kept petting her. Very sweet and gentle dog.”“First time walking Coraline- very sweet dog, and very friendly. Easy to leash, knows sit, paw, possibly more. Wants to be your best friend and give you kisses.”Coraline has shared her kennel politely with a couple of different furry roommates, and is a tolerant, easygoing, go with the flow kind of gal. When meeting other dogs in playgroup, she was appropriate, tolerant, and independent. She mostly enjoyed cooling off under the hose!
