This handsome boy is Bernie, a yellow lab mix estimated to be about 4 years old. Our rescue took him in after he was found by a good samaritan gravely injured and unable to walk. It is believed he was tied up when attacked by other dogs. He was also very thin and heartworm positive. The worst injury was to his left hind leg which was badly shredded. After evaluating the wound, it was determined that sadly the leg was beyond repair and would have to be amputated. Luckily, for Bernie, all of this is behind him! Bernie is a VERY sweet boy and will be an excellent family dog. We promised Bernie that the rest of his life would be the best of his life.
