Love and treats won 2-year-old Ferret’s trust within days of arriving at his foster home. Then, once past his initial shyness, the 47-pound black and white beauty revealed how truly sweet-natured, calm and easygoing he is. Now he happily rests his head on his foster dad, rolls over for belly rubs, and executes his version of the ranger crawl with enviable grace. Moderately energetic, Ferret enjoys going for walks, growing more comfortable on leash every day, likes playing with Frisbees and does well with all kinds of dogs. Especially fond of meat-based treats, accepting them gently, he currently knows no commands, but being motivated by love and food, he should prove easy to teach. Crate trained and almost fully house-trained, Ferret will fare best in a home, preferably with a backyard and another dog as both mentor and playmate, and loving adopters to bolster his confidence, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him fulfilled, both mentally and physically, fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here.
