Can't resist an underdog? Then you need Henry in your life! If you've been following our social platforms, you may have seen Henry when he first came in--he was thin, his coat was dull and patchy, and he looked a lot older. He's positively glowing now thanks to some meds, good nutrition and plenty of love. While we've been able to get Henry healthy again, we haven't been able to find his people. But we know they are out there! Henry was rescued from living in a metal horse trailer and transported to us. We don't know how long he lived that way, but it's pretty clear that he wasn't exposed to much in his previous life. He's been through a lot with us, and he's been in several foster homes so far but hasn't found the right match. Henry is dog friendly but perhaps because he was deprived of dog companionship for a while, he has a hard time turning off his play switch when around other dogs. We think he might do best in a home without another dog for now as he continues to learn what home living is all about. It's really going to be all about the dog dynamics, and our Canine Team can talk with you more if you're interested in Henry and have another dog. In his last foster home, Henry showed that he is housetrained and was non-destructive when left alone outside of a crate! This guy is one of the most food motivated dogs we've seen! He loves his snacks and is highly trainable. Henry also enjoys taking in all the smells on walks, cuddling on the couch, and just being near his people. Because Henry can get stressed in the main shelter, he's been staying in our staff kitchen/lounge area in a separate building. He has plenty of enrichment and staff and volunteer friends but it's not the same as living in a home. Do you have that home that he's been waiting for?
