Cree is such a sweet, gentle giant! This almost two year old pup does great with loose leash walking and getting attention! He loves to keep his nose to the ground anytime he is outside and has no problem tracking all of the best scents. The only things he loves more than exploring outside are treats and affection! He generally is gentle, but this boy could use a few pounds and sometimes his stomach can get in the way and he may need to be reminded to be gentle until he learns that now, there will always be plenty of food. Don't be surprised if he boops your hand with his nose if he thinks he missed a well deserved treat, especially if he does a good 'sit'. This big boy is really such a softie at heart. He loves to find a nice spot to relax and lean in for some good pets and baby talk, you'll know he is loving it when his big tail gets a going! Cree recently went on a Dog Day Out! Here's what our volunteer had to say: Cree and I had an awesome day! Absolutely broke my heart to have to take him back. We walked part of the Rock Island Trail but it got hot quickly. It was 100 out without the heat index. We also went to a couple of dog friendly stores to "advertise" him. After all that, I bought him a cheeseburger and we went to the park and sat on a bench in the shade and ate nearly all of the dog treats in the dog day out bag. He's such a good boy and you can tell how much he appreciated everything. Cree went on a second Dog Day Out! Here's what our volunteer had to say: Cree is such a good boy. He was a bit unsure of the car at first but settled in quick. He was very excited to investigate and soon figured out that he could lay down and watch out the window. He enjoyed his pup cup and loves his treats. He walks so good and doesn't pull. He is very friendly. He knows "no". We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possilbe. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, who are deteriorating in the shelter environment or who have more restrictions on homes they can go to find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
