Hi, I’m Moses. I’m a 2-year-old chocolate Labrador/Pitbull mix. I’m at MACC because my family didn’t have enough time to care for me. That means I’m a good boi and it’s not my fault. I’m also a good listener and smart, so if you ask me to “sit” or “laydown” I’ll do it right away because I like to make hoomans happy especially the ones who give me snackos or cuddles - I love both those things lots. I like to use my brain too, so I really hope you will teach me some new things! I have a little bit of stranger danger so I might bark at you when we first meet but that’s because I want to make sure you are friendly…so my big bark is just me pretending to be tough to scare away any bad people (shhh, don’t tell anyone). I’ll know you’re really my friend when you say the secret password: “Hi Moses - Sit” and then give me a treat. Once you say the password and pay the treat tax, I will wag my tail and ask for pets and we will be buddies for sure! All the nice hoomans at the shelter say they really like me and that I’m a handsome boi. I like their nice words, but I’ve been at the shelter a long time and I’m starting to get a bit sad that I haven’t been adopted yet. The hoomans here are giving me extra love and belly rubs which helps but what I really want is a forever home. If you have another dog, that’s probably okay too! I walk past other dog’s kennels nicely and politely greet them through the gate (Okay, I don’t like the dog in the kennel next to mine but that’s because he’s GINORMOUS, so I sometimes bark at him so he’ll stay away). I haven’t spent a lot of time with other dogs so they said I’m a bit under socialized, which means I can be a bit nervous around dogs in play group, so I need a slow introduction to feel comfortable. But I love playing with friendly dogs once we have had time to meet and smell each other’s butts and stuff. I’ve only been in two playgroups so far, but I think they’re fun and I can’t wait for the next one! I walk nice on a leash although I might pull a bit at first because I’m excited to be outside. Oh, and remember my stranger danger? I sometimes bark at people, bikes, scooters, etc., that come too close to me. So, I’m working on that, and hopefully you can help me to learn that most things aren’t a threat, and I won’t need to worry about it when we go on walks. I’m told I have HUGE potential!
