Stamford, aka Sammy, was rescued by CAMO only able to see shadows because of genetic cataracts. But that did not stop this perky 8- to 10-year-old Shi Tzu from enjoying life. He did well at CAMO's facility until pulled by his foster mom who saw so much potential in him. He fit right into her pack of personal and foster dogs. This little guy loves his walks, snuggles and car rides. Car rides may be his favorite activity with walks a close second. Surgery to remove his very mature cataracts was successful. He just loves looking all around when he is outside. While he always was a fast walker, he no longer bumps into the objects he doesn't see or misjudges. Stamford thrives with attention. He loves a warm lap and to sleep near a human. CAMO is looking for a forever family for this special guy who will continue his eye care (eye drops and checkups). Cataract surgery is not inexpensive even at the rescue rate so we are looking for an adopter who will continue his care. He loves his ophthalmologist and staff of veterinary technicians so no problem taking him to the vet. Someone who is away all day will not be considered. An active retired person or one who has flexibility working from home will be. As his foster mom has told us, unless an adopter is found who can provide more attention and care than she can, she will keep him. But she hopes that person/family is out there. No small children. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs.
