Adopt Tasha a Black Alaskan Klee Kai / Mixed (short coat) dog in Colorado

Location:
Colorado Springs, CO
Description:

#### Tasha, a graceful 2-year-old Alaskan Husky weighing 35lbs, carries a quiet elegance that's matched by her observant nature. Her preference for sitting in corners, watching the world around her, reflects her thoughtful disposition.Tasha's personality has begun to blossom around familiar people. She will come close to her human friends and take treats, but has not yet learned that being touched is safe. She loves playing with her dog friends and destroying any stuffed toy that crosses her path. Tasha's comfort and confidence are deeply intertwined with the presence of a confident canine companion. Their friendship provides her with the support she seeks, helping her open up and trust more each day. A confident dog in the home is required to help Tasha with her leash training and show her that humans are safe.Since she is not yet leash trained, a 5ft fence is required to ensure Tasha's safety while she explores the yard and enjoys her surroundings. For Tasha's tranquility, a home without young children is recommended, allowing her to flourish in a calm and serene environment. If you're prepared to provide a patient and understanding space for a gentle and observant soul, Tasha is ready to share her journey of healing and companionship with you. Apply at nmdr.org and let Tasha's story of transformation begin with you! -------------------------------------------------------Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Some of our more fearful dogs will do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
