Anatolian Shepherd Fans Unite, we have a big girl for you! Bella is 3yrs old. This is her tale of redemption. Bella was found (with her brother Scar) in a horrid situation, removed after a cruelty investigation. Our gentle giant arrived, unsure what shelter life was going to be like, she actually acclimated quickly. However, it was obvious she was not fed much. Forced to share a small living space among filth, dirty water and limited food (to be shared among multiple XL dogs) she arrived emaciated at 77 pounds. With multiple feedings she is slowly gaining weight. Mini-milestones are what makes this story legendary. Even from her horrible start, she is making strides. Bella and her brother Scar are not bonded. They do have play time in the yard together, and while they do interact, she is a bit pushy around her brother. We are unsure if the siblings were bred together. What we do know is, both of them will need time and patience to learn what being a family member is truly like. They do not have to be placed together.Bella appears to be friendly when meeting new people, other doggies and loves time outside on walks or play-yard. Bella, is confident but needs slow introductions to all the wonderful things life has to enjoy. We are looking for an experienced home that will understand her day-to-day needs. She is considered an extra large breed (she won't get taller, but will continue to gain weight). She is good on leash, and will thrive when she trusts you.
