CANELOIs a handsome boy aptly named Canelo which means cinnamon. He was a loved family dog who`s owner had to suddenly leave the country leaving this poor boy without a home. He really enjoyed getting out of his kennel to the play yard where he could relax and be more himself. He`s a sweetheart who loves your attention and will lean on you to be closer. He really enjoys rope toys and play very gentle. The finder reported that he was respectful of her cats and dog and walked well on the leash.Canelo is Heartworm positive. Dogs that test positive for heartworm must go through treatment before they can go up for adoption. Treatment cannot begin until they are in a quiet environment. The shelter is not a quiet environment and thus we need a foster home for him to start treatment. All medical expenses are covered by the shelter`s Emergency Medical Fund. Fosters do get the first opportunity to adopt if they so decide, but are not obligated. Fostering is very rewarding!
