He was jumping on everyone’s car at the McDonalds drive through in LaPorte. I opened my door and didn’t even have time to get out; he jumped in my lap and climbed over me. Another lady offered to take him to work where she knew someone who runs a rescue. He wouldn’t get out of the car for bacon or sausage. He didn’t like us touching his collar (he is fine with that now). I have been paying for training to help with his fear reactivity. I had medical issues come up with me and got laid off. One of my dogs also has medical issues. So we can't continue to keep Tucker. Tucker gets along with other dogs but would rather cuddle with people (especially women). He is truly a cuddle bug (I think they call them Velcro dogs). He loves cars (be careful he will jump on them). When we found him, he was housetrained and knew basic commands. Now thanks to training, he is a breeze to walk on leash and knows even more “tricks”. He is up to date all his vaccines and preventative meds. He has been through something traumatic and is fearful (especially of men) and fear reactive but warms up to people quickly. He had a reaction to chip readers. The trainer believes he lived in a car at one point and has been in and out of the system and relates the chip reader with going back in the system. He is not chipped so we don’t know if he still has a reaction to this, but training and boarding have helped him learn to trust people again. I think Tucker would get along with young children, but he might be afraid of their sudden actions (movements and sounds). In addition, he is heavy and will love you with all his weight. I can’t foster him for this reason even though I have fallen in love with him; I have fibromyalgia. He truly warms up to people fast. He was only with me for less than a day and he fell in love with me. A potential foster went to meet him, and he just cuddled the woman the whole time (they were older, and he was just too much dog for them). Tucker will truly steal your heart! The trainer/boarder has offered to do intros and stay in touch with the foster/adopter.
