Adopt Pepe a Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - with White Old English Sheepdog /

Location:
Tulsa, OK
Description:

If you love redheads then I have the perfect boy for you! Meet Pepe! This handsome fellow is everything a redhead should be. He is feisty. He is spunky. He is loyal. He is stunning. And most of all he makes for one hell of a best friend! Pepe is your shadow. Wherever you go, he goes. You can try bargaining with him and telling him that you in fact do not need an escort to the bathroom, and he will act like he understands...just to end up following you anyways. Any future partners should also know that you and Pepe will be a package deal. Pepe loves everyone but he tends to bond strongly to one person and once that happens....you will not find a more loyal and true companion. This boy would follow you everywhere....and will even endure the terrible heat to make sure there is someone watching over you when you are watering the flowers. Pepe has always had doggie companionship. Since he was born he has been around other dogs. I am not talking about two, four, or even six dogs. I am talking over 30 dogs! To make matters worse, he lived in a small house with no AC. Pepe was one of the unlucky pups that just didn't handle everything all that well and due to all the stress ended up coming down with Demodex mange and losing a lot of his fur. He is missing a lot of fur on his back, it kinda looks like a naked rat if you ask me. The good news is that his back won't forever look like that, and his fur is already starting to come back in. I am excited to see just how thick his coat gets now that he is getting proper nutrition! Pepe is understandably on the more anxious side. He is just under a year old and has only lived in one place, with one family, and the same dogs for his whole life. So, to say this boy needs some more socialization and exposure to the outside world would be an understatement. He has so much potential just floating all around him, and all he needs is the right family to take all that loose potential and help him mold it into one amazing boy! Pepe would really benefit from training courses. If his new family loved training and helping a dog unlock a dog's true potential...Pepe is a wonderful choice! We are thinking that he is an Old English Sheepdog mix(per owner), possibly mixed with some Aussie. That means he is incredibly smart and eager to learn, but also has the stubbornness of the Pyr shining through sometimes. Pepe loves other dogs and does well with them. He has met cats and so far is not impressed with them. He doesn't appreciate their taunts and has decided that he would prefer a cat-free home. Pepe can be nervous when first getting settled into a new place, and understandably so. Can you imagine living your life in one place only and never seeing the outside world just to suddenly get cast out into the world on your haunches?! With that being said, he has really started to open up in his foster home and settle in. Pepe is a pack animal so would do best in a multi-dog home. Ones that have other confident dogs and hopefully even one that will play with him from time to time! Pepe has pretty good house manners and is just about potty trained as long as he has a set schedule or access to a doggie door. Pepe currently stays in the "puppy room" with his other foster siblings when his foster is away and at night, and does well. Pepe would do best with a family that is home a lot. He really loves people and is looking to bond with someone special. Right now, I am going to say that Pepe is a homebody but I don't think he should ever go anywhere. He really needs help learning that this world isn't all that scary and it is okay to go on road trips, and on adventures outside the home. A family that is on the quieter side but can also commit to further socializing this boy would be best. Mainly, he just needs to build more confidence. He is tired of being called a scaredy cat ;) Pepe can be barky when first meeting strangers one on one, but if he has other dogs around that are happy to say hello...then he will jump right into the mix to sneak in a hug and say hello! Pepe is looking for a dedicated and loving family. All this change is hard on him, and he would really love his new home to be his forever. His heart couldn't handle having to suddenly lose everything he ever knew once again just because things changed. Life happens, things are always going to happen. Pepe is a forever dog though, not an until dog. Now if you are a forever kinda family and not an until one, then we hope to see you apply for Pepe at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3 Once this app comes in, it will be sent to her foster family. This is to help ensure that it is not only a good fit for you, but Katt as well. Pepe is being fostered in Sand Springs, OK. If you have fallen in love with him and are out of state, how about a road trip? We don't send our fluffy butts on commercial transports. So, if you want one of our amazing fluffy butts, it is time to plan a trip to good ole Oklahoma 😉 His adoption fee is $250.00.That will include her DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. He will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. They say that good things come to those who wait, so I figured I would save this juicy tidbit from Pepe's foster mom until the end! ;) ENJOY! "My husband says Pepe makes sounds like Chewbacca sometimes, they are definitely quite interesting! Pepe loves to stay close to his people and can usually always be found lying by our feet. Pepe has bouts of energy but calms down quickly. Pepe is looking for a patient and loving family that can help him navigate life as he comes into himself and learns who he truly is. He would do best in a multi-dog home but at the very least with one other confident and sometimes playful dog to help show him the ropes.
