Philadelphia, PA
Description:

** $90 in pledges for the rescue that pulls ** ** Interested foster though rescue ** Tito ACCT-A-94891 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Tito must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, FOSTER, or RESCUE PARTNER by Sunday, August 20th by 10:00 am. Should Tito's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog. Tito was first with us back in 2021 as an owner surrender. He was brought i due to aggression towards small animals and the cats in the home. His original family did note that he lived peacefully with young children and other dogs in the home, but cannot go to a home with small animals due to his prey drive. He was quickly adopted out due to his fun and loving personality. The below notes are from his first time in our care. 7/17/21 per volunteer: "He was easy to get out of the kennel! He walked well on a leash harness with no issues. Once in the run he was bouncy and playful. He enjoyed chasing after the toys! He was super happy and friendly when a couple said hello to him from outside of the fence. We saw a small dog outside with another volunteer from about a three foot distance and he had no reaction. He's a nice little boy!" Due to his sparkling personality he was quickly 7/27/21 per volunteer: Easy to remove from kennel. Very strong and energetic, pulls hard on leash. Greeted other dogs with social body language through fence. Pulls hard towards other dogs while walking. Friendly and allows handling. 8/1/21 per staff: Easily leashed and unleashed. Tito did well during a meet with a family who ended up adopting him! A complete sweetheart who smiled the entire time. Tito was then brought back to us on 8/3/23 as an owner surrender due to housing issues. They noted he was mostly housetrained, high energy, and knows yes, sit, stay, and lay down. They said he is calm and friendly with children and friendly with strangers. They stated he is also good with other dogs, but would prefer for there to be no smaller animals in the home. His owner said he loves stuffed animals, ropes, and peanut butter biscuits. Tito has been fun and playful while in our care. He loves to play in the water and explore the play yard. He is great on leash and has been a staff and volunteer favorite throughout his stay. When Tito is in his kennel he can typically be seen cuddling with his blankets and plush toys. Many times he will try to self soothe by suckling on his blanket as well. Unfortunately Tito has been getting more and more stressed as time has gone on and is beginning to have a harder time coping with his stress. The last few days he has been observed panting heavily, whining and pacing in his kennel. Due to Tito's stress levels increasing he urgently needs to leave and be placed in a home environment where he can decompress. Per staff 8/14/23: Tito appears stressed in kennel. He is pacing and panting heavily. He will try to self soothe by suckling on his blanket. Per volunteer 8/14/23: Tito is a very happy boy who likes all people and other dogs. He is a very good walker and easy to handle...He loved playing with the hose and enjoyed staying close to his handler. Tito is a real Hunk! Per volunteer 8/8/23: Tito seemed housetrained and went to the bathroom as soon as we went outside. He is strong and pulls on leash. Once we were in the yard he had a great time playing fetch and running around until he plopped down for a break. He appears stressed and was exit searching, but allowed all over handling and was engaged in play. Per Staff 8/4/23: "He did allow and enjoy all over handling, leaning in for butt scratches especially. He had no interest in treats outside his kennel. He stayed loose with a mid level wag, and seemed to forget some of his stress with play." Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
