Hamilton’s journey began when he was surrendered to the Anti-Cruelty Society with a badly broken leg, which ultimately required amputation surgery. Despite the challenges he faced, Hamilton’s spirit never wavered, and he was adopted into a loving home. However, due to an unexpected obstruction, he returned to the shelter, and that’s when we stepped in to pull him and offer the care he needed. Hamilton has been through quite a lot, but he’s a determined learner. In his education, he’s already mastered commands like “Sit,” “Leave it,” “Come,” and is crate trained. He’s working on potty training and shows an average energy level, making him a perfect companion for various activities. When it comes to his likes, Hamilton is a true food enthusiast, and there’s not much he won’t devour. He enjoys playing with toys, especially Benebones and stuffed toys. Snuggling and chewing are some of his favorite pastimes, and he loves playing with other dogs, as well as showing curiosity towards cats. Tug-of-war is another fun activity for him, and he adores scratches all over, particularly on his nub (missing leg area). Hamilton is an affectionate and loyal pup who will follow you around, creating a special bond with his forever family. However, he might require some patience and understanding due to the challenges he faces. He’s still catching up on socialization and training since his surgeries required crate rest, but with time and support, he’ll thrive. As a tripod, Hamilton may need supervision to ensure his safety since he can be a bit of a stunt dog, fearlessly exploring the world around him. He’s been improving with guarding tendencies towards food but will benefit from continued training.
