Say hello to Kita! Kita is a sweet girl who is dog friendly and loves to play. She is an Akita which are high energy, intelligent, and thick coated dogs. She is very affectionate and will roll around on her back for belly rubs! She generally walks well on a leash as well. Kita has shown signs of resource guarding in the shelter and will need a home comfortable working on it with her. She will do best in a home without young children due to the guarding tendencies. Kita can be a bit jumpy and likes to play rough- she sometimes uses her mouth to play and will need help learning that most people prefer to not use their hands as toys. Kita is very food motivated and will do well with training as long as you have a snack!
