Meet Little Buddy! This 12-year-old, Shih Tzu-Miniature Poodle blend, weighs 19 lbs. While his name may be “Little” Buddy, this adorable boy sure does have a huge heart and is on the lookout for a person looking for a furry best friend. General Behavior : Little Buddy is an easy-going guy that looks forward to his daily snuggles with his human, and his naps. He is laid-back and would make a wonderful addition to a quiet home made for a senior pooch like him. Likes & Dislikes : This spry boy loves to cuddle, go on walks, and above all else…meal time. He is not a picky eater in the slightest. He occasionally will pick up a toy and toss it around, but he overall just enjoys spending his time with you. Training : Little Buddy has done well with his housetraining in his foster home and once settled in, he is sure to let you know when he needs to go out. He walks well on a leash and has good basic manners. Medical : This Senior pooch has Cushing’s disease. This causes Little Buddy to drink water more frequently than the average dog, as well as some hair thinning. He takes medication once daily to control the disease. The cost of this medication is approximately $100 per month. Along with this, he will also require his monthly heartworm and flea preventative, just like any other pooch. Other Animals : Little Buddy is a friendly pup and does well with other calm and laid-back dogs. He even doesn’t mind having a kitty friend around! Children : Due to this sweet boy's age and size, a home without young children is best. Older kids (12+) would be just fine. Home : Little buddy would do just fine in the first floor apartment-living or in a single-family home. He requires a single-story home without stairs, as his Cushing's Disease and age have caused some weakness in his legs and we wouldn’t want him getting hurt. He is a respectful boy and does well when having the home to himself. Grooming : Little Buddy will require a trip to a professional grooming every 4-6 weeks.
