Buster Brown is 2 years, 6 months old and weighs 68 pounds. He is a terrier mix with a unique, happy face with distinct features including a long snout, amber eyes, and floppy ears. Frankly, Buster is overweight and needs to loose 10 to 12 pounds. One thing that is certainly obvious when meeting Buster Brown, he is a very, very joyful dog.Buster Brown does well with adults and children over 8 years old, but it is not known if he has ever met a cat. He can be selective when meeting a new dog and would be best as an only dog in a home. He has already mastered his house training and is working on his crate training. He is still working on his leash manners and practice will certainly make perfect. Daily short walks will be a good opportunity to work on leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along walks. Keeping his mind active with activities that provide physical and mental stimulation will prevent boredom. Could he be a future tennis ball chaser?The adoption fee for Buster Brown is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. If your application looks like a good fit, you will be contacted by phone for an interview. This is an opportunity to learn more about the home life you offer and the known temperament and energy level of the dog that is available for adoption. In some cases we may find that a different adoptable dog may be more suitable for your lifestyle and would be brought to your attention. Next, you will speak with the previous foster families to learn more about the day to day needs and behavior of the dog as an extra measure to find the perfect match. In addition, your veterinarian will be contacted to confirm your dedication to the health and well being of your previous or current pets.Finally DSR reserves the right to do a home inspection prior to the adoption approval. While this may seem like a lengthy process it actually may only take a week or two. As a result you should only begin the adoption process when you are ready to welcome a dog into your home.DSR makes every effort to insure our dogs are healthy, happy, and well cared for by our loving volunteers as they wait for their forever homes. All dogs are up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and receive a health certificate before being transported. Our adoption fee is $450 and every penny goes towards the rescue of dogs in need.Shelter locationDSR's facility is located in Bloomfield, CT and is available by appointment only. We host adoption events every other week in the greater Hartford area. These are wonderful opportunities to meet all of our amazing adoptable dogs.
