Rocco the Pirate 🏴☠️ 😉 has healed from his surgery to remove his painful eye and is ready to find a home! This happy go lucky ”young senior” (we think 8-10 years old) is a social happy guy who literally begs for love (and treats 😋 of course). We think he’s some kind of havanese mix, or maybe a short legged cockapoo. He’s fine with most other dogs as long as they give him some space and is looking for an adult home (children upset him). He is on eye drops for early glaucoma in his remaining eye to hopefully keep his vision in it as long as possible, but will likely eventually go completely blind and doesn’t seem to 20/20 vision in his remaining eye. Actually I guess it would technically be more like 0/10 vision. But he navigates well and follows a routine quickly, he’s just a bit clumsy at times and not doing any agility courses at this point. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
