Gracie is a super sweet and loving companion. She loves long naps on her comfy bed throughout the day, and she is always ready for a walk, lots of lovin', and playtime with her toys. Her favorite game is fetch, but she also enjoys chewing on a rubber ball or safe chew bone. She really is the perfect blend of chill and playful, and she will follow you everywhere. She is potty-trained, as long as you remember to take her out regularly. She does not scratch on the door when she needs to go. We have left her indoors while away for five hours without incident, and she sleeps through the night. She has a crate, but we have never used it except the first week we had her. She did fine while in the crate, but we are not sure if she is "crated-trained. She is friendly with strangers, but excited and tends to jump up on them. We like to leash her when we have visitors until she acclimates to their presence. This is one area where she could probably use training. We have had children, even a toddler, visit; and once she has the opportunity to smell them, etc., she doesn't bother them. We have had parties of 50, and she is quite comfortable. She is not aggressive with other dogs on walks, but she has not been around other pets otherwise, so we do not know how she would be with other pets. Her personality is friendly and demeanor is mild, so we feel she would probably acclimate very well over time. Gracie is okay with being outside if no one is home; but when you're home, she wants to be where you are. Her greatest need is for an owner who can support her ongoing allergies, which is typical to her breed. She will require cytopoint injections or an oral allergy med for the rest of her life in order to keep her skin healthy, costing $100-200 a month, depending upon the vet you choose. This is an absolute must in finding the best home for Gracie. Gracie is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster.
