Adopt Doug a Brown/Chocolate - with White American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed dog

Doug (~2 years old) was found skinny and starving in a ditch in West Memphis during the freeze this winter. He's terrified of most men at first meeting, but opens up over time. He was clearly abused in the past. Putting on a harness is scary for him and requires baby steps. He is snuggly, super attached to his people, and loves to play with dogs. He's docile/submissive to cats. He's a bit jumpy at times so he'd be better with kids who are older (6ish+) or kids who are familiar with dogs or know what too rough is. Doug loves to play tug of war and chomp on a rawhide. He's content following you around and being a lazy couch potato during movie night. He's fully crate trained, would do well with a doggie door, and is mostly house trained, but needs someone to be paying attention to his signs that he needs to go out. He does get zoomies and is eager to play. He's smart, trainable, and food motivated. He knows sit, shake, and stay before being prompted to release before eating his food.
