Adopt Bosco a Black - with White Labrador Retriever / Beagle dog in New Albany

Location:
New Albany, OH
Description:

Name : Bosco Gender : Male Age : 11 months Current Weight : 45lbs Expected Adult Size : Medium (25-50 lbs) Breed : DNA results - Boxer (21%), Labrador Retriever (19%), Cattle Dog (17%), Pit Bull (17%), Beagle (15%) Energy Level : Low - Medium Dog Friendly : Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. Cat Friendly : Yes Kid Friendly : Yes, 5 years and over Apartment Friendly : No Physical Fence Requirement : Physical fence required Crate Trained : Yes Potty Trained : Yes Ideal Home/Adopter : Bosco would do best in a home with a fenced yard. He's not extremely active and is content to sunbathe in the backyard or entertain himself with toys. He currently goes for one short walk a day as part of his PT and enjoys that, but doesn't need long daily walks. He does not need another dog in the home, but if there was a dog, it would be best to have a younger, social dog. Likes : Car rides, any kind of toy, warm sunny days, people, other dogs, snuggling up with his people on the couch or where ever they are sitting Dislikes : When his foster siblings don't want to play with him, people who walk by and don't say hi, baths Additional Considerations: Bosco had surgery to repair a dislocated elbow in early March after he was found on the side of the road. He has made a great recovery since surgery and is starting to resume normal activity. Bosco goes for daily walks to help build up strength in his leg and also attends rehab twice a week. He is scheduled through the end of May and an adopter would need to be able to take him to those appointments (the cost is covered by the rescue). The vet doesn't expect any significant long term damage due to his injury. What makes this dog special : Bosco came to the rescue and it was discovered he had two broken front legs. He was pretty pathetic, but with the help of the wonderful surgeons at OSU and his foster family, he's on his way to making a great recovery. Despite what he's been through, Bosco loves every single person he meets and doesn't know a stranger. Bosco is house trained and crate trained and fits into his foster home very well. We suspect he was owned at some point, but his owners never came looking for him. Bosco adores the other dogs in his foster home, but he can be picky about which dogs he likes in public (we can all relate, huh?). He could live in a home with another dog or be an only dog. Bosco is used to his foster mom working from home and while he is fantastic in his crate for long periods of time, we aren't sure how he'll do if he were left alone for an entire workday.Bosco's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Bosco, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.##1983777##
