SPECIAL NEEDSSweet Sprout is 6 weeks old. He is just learning the dos and don'ts of puppy hood and he has to learn a different way than his sisters. He was born without a fully developed vertabrae and therefore the spinal cord does not go all the way down like it should. He does have control of his bladder and bowels, and he is learning to walk (more like a cute hop) in his own way. The vet said he will live a completely normal life, just will get around differently. We aren't 100% sure of his breed. He is a sweet mutt! His mom was taken in by a good Samaritan before they even knew she had babies! Mom, Junie, is about 25 lbs so we think the Sprout will be between 25 and 40 lbs, our best guess. Sprout will need a committed family that is active, patient and willing to make at least a 15 year commitmen. Sprout's adoption fee is $200The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess. Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up. All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in. Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!
