Beagle Dog for Adoption in Tampa, Florida, 33688 USNickname: Wilson Posted Breed: Beagle. Adoption Fee: $125. Wilson is about 8 years old and he is a true rescue. He has a previous leg injury but he compensates for it well; he uses a step to hop up on the couch to curl up next to you. He LOVES to ride in the car and gets very excited for his daily walks. He was missing most of the fur on his tail (his foster mom says he looks like an armadillo from the back) but since he started his thyroid medication, we are happy to report his fur is growing back! Wilson is doing much better in the house and is fully housetrained/heartworm negative. He is eager to please and will sit nicely for a treat. He has recently learned to “shake” with his paw. He still has considerable separation anxiety but has been staying uncrated in the hours for 4 hours at a time with no problems, which is major progress! Wilson is a great “work from home” buddy (as long as you don’t mind a little snoring). He will happily sleep on a dog bed next to your bed at night. It is clear he has not had a lot of love in his life, so he loves affection and being by your side. Wilson is not a fan of other dogs so he will need to be the only dog in a household. He is very vocal when he sees other dogs (especially large dogs). He also would not do well with small children as he can get a little grumpy if you touch his leg in the wrong spot. He does not seem reactive around cats so he would likely do fine with them. Wilson is a special case and is looking for the right person or people to give him the life he deserves!
