Labrador Retriever Mix Dog for Adoption in Utica, New York, 13502 USNickname: Chubbs Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Terrier / Mixed. Chubbs is a real gentleman; well-mannered and social to people and dogs! He's doing well with the young children in his foster home where he like to spend his days relaxing and going for short walks. When he gets excited he does get a little hump-happy but that is being worked on. So far he is good in the house even when left alone. A well-rounded, friendly guy! Chubbs is estimated to be 7 years old, he came to us all the way from South Carolina after his previous owner had to go into assisted living and surrendered Chubbs to the local county shelter. Facing little chance of adoption and a severely over capacity shelter space, he then made his way to us and is loving life in his foster home. He is one of the calmest and most adaptable dogs that we have had in our rescue, you may have seen him at the Waterford Canal Fest rocking his "adopt me" t-shirt and greeting families happily next to the TTRR tent! (from foster) Chubby has really come out of his shell. He likes to play with my other dogs and does pretty well with my small kids. He loves treat, pets and is a big kisser!! Chubby is excellent with gentle redirecting if he is doing something you are not into it.(Whether he's licking you to much or he wants to rough house/play bite thing ) . We just tell him no and listens and does something else. He is fully potty trained and understands he should go outside. He does good on a leash with me and is a good boy in the car. Chubby seems to get along better with smaller dogs, but with proper introduction he gets along with all my dogs now.
