Basil here is just as refreshing as the plant she shares a name with! An easy-going dog that exudes good-company energy. From the moment I met her she had that familiar sense that puts you at ease. In rescue breed and age are offered as educated guesses given we do not know a dogs history but we believe Basil is about 2 years old and is possibly a Lab mix and she weighs in at 47 lbs. The perfect size for hopping in the car with an adventure in mind. Basil is an easy-going and content girl, she is a perfect putzing around gal, whether gardening or pushing the kids on the swing- she will be happy to be there. She isn’t going to demand attention but will quietly come check-in for some affection before finding a shady spot nearby to lay down in. She responds positively to a connection and comforting presence without needing constant reinforcement or praise. Basil will be happy to keep you company without getting in the way. We introduced Basil to multiple dogs and she was great, friendly, easy-going and calm. Although she didn’t play with any of the dogs she was introduced to, we think with time and the right connection she will show a more playful side. On top of being a lovely lady to dogs, Basil was perfectly respectful of out house cat showing us she is cat-tolerant and could easily co-exist with a feline-friend.Basil’s dream home? Well she is a family friendly girl, great with kids, so a cute little family with a house and a yard to explore and soak up the smells with a sun/shade spot for mid-day naps, is as dreamy as it gets. But thanks to her size and quiet nature, she is definitely apartment-life ready! Just be prepared for her nose to require some breaks on walks for simply smelling about. Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. The adoption fee is $800 and includes all vetting: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship!
