Hey there, I'm Porkchop - a young, large Pit mix with a heart full of gratitude and a story that began with a kind-hearted family who rescued me from the streets. Despite our efforts, my previous owner couldn't be found, and now I'm eagerly hoping to find a forever family at a new home. I'm a big bundle of love, and my sweet demeanor shines through in every wag of my tail. You'll find me bringing a dose of sunshine to every moment. Cuddles are my specialty! Beware though…..I am an 80lb lap dog. I can find space to sit with you in any size chair!!! I am not a high energy dog but do enjoy long slow walks. Despite my size, I never pull on my leash even if I spy on a squirrel. I know sit and shake and I recall well. There's nothing I love more than curling up beside you for some heartwarming snuggles. My friendly nature extends to other dogs too - I'm dog-friendly and always ready for a playdate. I am a good watchdog as I am wary of new people but watch your cues and your friends are my friends. Life's just better with a loyal companion by your side, and I'm ready to fill that role with all my love. If you're looking for a sweet addition to your family, look no further - Porkchop is the name!Adoption processOnce someone has expressed interest in a dog, we send them an adoption application to fill out. These questions help us determine if the dog is a right fit for their home/living arrangements. We will then set up a meet and greet and (if possible) home visit, to make sure the dog will get along with everyone (especially if they have other pets). We also rely heavily on references. Once it is determined the dog and person are the perfect fit, we will continue with an adoption contract and adoption fee.
