Elmer Fudd ACCT-A-165278 is a 3-year-old male who came in as a stray on 5/24. During a behavioral assessment on 5/25, staff noted: "Elmer Fudd was very nervous when entering the room. He was trembling hard and making sustained eye contact. I turned my body sideways and offered him some treats, which he took gently. He took a bunch of treats very gently before I gave him some space to relax. He decided to try and curl up and hide in a corner, staying far away from the handlers in the room. I approached him sideways and offered more treats. He hesitated but continued to take them from me gently. I was able to start touching and petting him slowly. He would give a slight lip raise if I moved too quickly or touched him without treats. He allowed some head and body touches. He let me look at his ears and touch his backside gently. He allowed necessary medical touch, but wasn't seeking out attention or affection at this time. Definitely go super super slow and use lots of high value treats to win him over; don't go straight for pets and affection. During an intake exam on 5/24, staff found Elmer in good general health besides live fleas, hair loss, and skin irritation. His finder observed on 5/24 that Wonton was found with "a lot of marks; that he "got a strong pull on leash; and that he was "shy, scared.
