Madison arrived at TJO excited about meeting everyone, she has been nothing but affectionate and sweet since she stepped through the door.OTHER PETS: Madison likes to invite other dogs to play but is a bit nervous around dogs significantly larger than she is; she will hide behind her handler and tell the other dog to leave her alone with an appropriate bark. As with all our adoptable dogs, any dog Madison would be living with should meet her first. [Likely (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: [First Dog]KIDS: Madison is comfortable with handling and calmly social, she would likely get along with any humans. Madison should meet any minor humans she would be living with to ensure a good match prior to adoption. [Case-By-Case]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Madison is a very playful lap dog who also enjoys walks, her playfulness comes out when engaged by humans and other dogs. [Couch Potato] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Madison bond with her new owner as well as ensuring she has a mastery of basic commands and behavorial expectations. [Minimal] GROOMING: Madison will need regular brushing to ensure her coat does not get matted and professional grooming every 3-4 months.
