Adopt Forest a White - with Black Whippet / Spaniel (Unknown Type) / Mixed dog

Forest is the sweetest companion when you get to know him, but he takes some time to warm up to you. He's a rescue pup. When we got him 3 years ago, he was skittis,h and you could count his ribs. But with some patience he found some confidence and reached a healthy weight. He attached strongly to my wife. She works with him daily to build confidence through training and expectations. He's snuggly with her and they go to coffee, play cat and mouse, and man you should see him run full tilt in circles in the back yard. That's when the whippet REALLY comes out. He's well behaved with her but shies away from everyone else. He'll cower or sometimes growl. Like many Whippets he is happiest as a one-person dog, but is fine with me and the kids, just not close with us. Because of a recent medical change to our family circu we have new people cycling through our house daily. It is stressful for him, hard on my wife, and simply not sustainable for the people coming into our home.
