Update: 5/26/24-🌴🧡🌴Meet Bella, a “Coconut Retriever” from the Humane Society of St. Thomas, USVI. Coconut retrievers are smart, energetic, and affectionate. They are loyal, highly trainable, and thrive on routines and consistency. There is no love like the love of an island dog. Bella was dropped off at the Humane Society of St. Thomas as a stray with her 3 siblings. (Believed to be the same litter). She was able to be in a foster home briefly, but she is still at the Humane Society shelter. Once Bella arrives in Maryland she will be fostered with two doggie friends. She will work on socialization, crate, potty, and basic leash training. Island babies have wonderful demeanors and are a good mix of loving, playful, calm, and do well with adjusting to their environments. Bella will make a great companion with praise and proper direction. It is unknown if she has had any contact with kids or cats, but likely no issues if introduced properly-as she is still young.
