Grape Jelly has had a less than ideal 1st year in his former life. He was not really given a chance and is in need of a very special and patient home as he is very timid and scared. He seems to have been a cast away in his previous life, and forgotten about in a backyard or who knows. He did not have much attention and guidance in how to be man's best friend but has extreme potential, is young, low key and has shown he wants to be very loving but is unsure. Until he was in our safe haven it seems he had never been leashed before, so a fenced in yard would be best for this guy to keep him safe. He is very avoidant of the leash, is not scared of it but definitely hard to get a leash on. We are working with Grape Jelly on leashing, however his new family will need to continue to work with him. Grape Jelly came in with another female dog and we believe he would flourish living with another dog as most shy and timid dogs have shown. That potential to do well with another dog to help show him how to be a dog and grow in his confidence is ideal but not necessary. His forever looks like a calm home, with an adult family/person or one with older kids would be best. Grape Jelly is looking for a patient and loving owner who will continue to teach him how to grow into a beautiful and confident dog. Grape Jelly is not in the main public section of the shelter, so be sure to ask for him by name if you come to visit him!
