Hi! My name is Persimmon and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by an Animal Control Officer on January 1, 2024 along with my pal when we were found roaming in a store.I weigh 81.0 lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog.I may weight 81.0 lbs, but I am truly a big baby! I can be head shy at first, but once I warm up to you I just want to be near you and will nuzzle your hand when I feel like you`re not giving me the attention I want :)I am VERY treat motivated and can easily be won over with them!Due to my shy nature I would do best in a home without younger children (fast movements and loud noises startle me).The staff at RASKC mention that I am the best snuggler and have been the best office dog! I don`t make a peep and just love to nap.I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!Persimmmon received a basic physical exam, in addition to routine vaccines, deworming, and topical flea preventative, if indicated. Although she is ready for adoption, there is always a possibility of additional medical conditions that have not been detected or may develop in the future. Current medical conditions are noted below.1) Bilateral elbow dysplasia characterized by an ununited anconeal process. Evidence of osteoarthritis. Decreased range of motion in both elbows. Radiographic concern of mild hip dysplasia.Pain management and joint supplements are recommended. Consult with your veterinarian for a treatment plan.Additional care for these conditions may be needed after adoption. Please follow up with your regular veterinarian.***April showers bring May flowers - and a lot of dogs at Regional Animal Services!
