Coura (short for courage) is a sweet, energetic young GSD who is urgently looking for home. She was on the euthanization list at a high kill shelter with only a few hours to go. She is in a very temporary foster home and needs to move soon. She is approximately 2-3 years old and still has puppy like enthusiasm, so can use ongoing reinforcement re: greeting others - dogs and humans alike - politely. She corrects quickly. She has the GSD ability to FOCUS so will also benefit from some training. She weighs 50 lbs and needs to gain some weight as she is very skinny from shelter life. She is leash trained (can pull a wee bit when she gets excited about a pup or a flower or a scent) and house trained. She was home boarded with a pack of dogs of all ages and sizes and did well. She enjoys being in a pack. She is not good with cats. She is fully vaxed and spayed and loves shopping at Home Depot! She is a very sweet girl who likely was ignored as an outside dog, and deserves a patent GSD savvy person so she can bond with her human, which she wants to do but never learned how. She would love a sibling she can run, play and wrestle with—she is an enthusiastic playmate! She is learning every day, is fantastic in a crate and likes car rides. She is very responsive and food motivated. She is affectionate and loves cuddles. PACA is a Foster-Based Rescue with no shelter. We can make arrangements for a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with approved applications.
