Meet Millie! She is about five and a half months old, is spayed, is about 40ish pounds, and she is available for adoption! This little cutie melts our hearts. She is currently thriving in her foster home, so please call us at 219-872-XXXX if you'd like to adopt her. Here is a note from Millie's foster mom: "When I brought her home it took several minutes to get her to come through the gate and inside the house. Patience paid off, but I'm sure it was a trying day for her. She is a different dog today than she was when she first came to us. She is a very sweet, generous and joyful soul. We love her! Millie was good on the leash to begin with. She and her foster-sibling learned to walk well together, and we have been on many walks since. She's having more fun now and seems confident while exploring. She has learned sit, shake, couch, off, leave it, go potty, and more. We tried to sit pretty but she doesn't have the coordination for that yet. Millie is most happy being a full member of the family and even sleeps in bed with us. She isn't as thrilled about being by herself. She loves plushies, stuffed Kongs, bones, and the doggie teaser pole. She spends a lot of time playing chase and wrestling with her dog foster sister, Thurber. Her impulse control has improved greatly since learning the command "Leave It. She can live peacefully with our cats and our rabbit. She is pretty well house-trained now and hasn't had an accident in several days. She is not afraid of my husband and naps next to him on the couch, but she keeps one eye on him while he's on his feet. She is more nervous around men. She has progressed to almost approaching a few new people. I'm thinking a proper (no pressure) introduction to a potential adopter should go well. But please know Millie may need a few visits in order to trust you; please be patient! She is sure worth it!"
