Hi! My name is Sarabi, and I am IN LOS ANGELES looking for my forever home! I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea by the DoVE Project. My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family! ID/NAME: CD23-004.1SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Female/90lbs/1.7 yearsBIRTH DATE: 9/28/2022BREED: Jindo/Great Dane mixVACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER -Up to date on all vaccines/SpayedHEALTH: Currently on Prozac and Gabapentin for her separation anxiety. These new medications seem to be working well! SIBLINGS/FAMILY: Simba (Yogi), Sarafina (Lucy), NalaBACKGROUND: Sarabi is being rehomed. Unresolved issues with the adopter's roommate have made it unavoidable. ABOUT MEHi! My name is Sarabi and I’m a 1.5 year old Jindo/Great Dane! I am a sweet goofy girl. I have received training and have learned how to heel and walk nicely on a leash! I’m good with this 90% of the time but I can be distracted by stuff! I love to smell and look at things around me - I’m easily redirectable though! I also know some cool commands like sit, stay, down, and place. My favorite things to do are play fetch, wrestle with friends, take naps in the sun, and chew on my antler - it is my favorite thing ever! I get along well with other dogs but still play like a puppy so sometimes I can play a little rough. I haven’t been around cats or children much; however, I don’t like people making fast movements around my face so I probably would prefer a home without small kids who might get too excited around me. My ideal family would have at least one person who works from home or is around much of the day since I love my people and want to be around them. Sometimes I get anxious if I’m left alone for a long time and may have an accident, but I’m working on this! I am otherwise potty trained and will let you know I need to go by sitting next to you and staring at you with my big expressive eyes! I am generally a quiet dog and only bark to alert you someone is coming into the house. I love my crate, it is my safe space and I like to go in there and nap when the door is left open. I love a good car ride and would love to come on rides with you! I am a gorgeous girl with lots of love to give! ABOUT JINDOSJindos are known for their fierce loyalty, high intelligence, rarely barking, and playful nature. They make great indoor family dogs, as Jindos are clean and easily housetrained, and are faithful to family members. They are also mid-level active and love being socialized at dog parks, going on hikes, and joining the family on trips. ABOUT SHELTER STRESSDogs who have lived in shelters for a long period of time develop behaviors due to an environment that is loud, chaotic, and stressful, even in best shelters in the US. Dogs in shelters have limited socialization exposure to people and urban environments. DoVE dogs also come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors. *********************************DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter.
