Penny is an adorable, wiggly, happy girl! Penny is one of 9 beautiful puppies that our lovely girl Roxie had. Roxie was picked up as a stray, pregnant in Houston, and had 9 gorgeous pups in the shelter. A week later, all 10 of them transported to Colorado. Roxie, the mom, is believed to be a Schnauzer / Bearded Collie mix. Unfortunately we have no idea who the dad is, but the vets think that they could have some Labrador in them. Penny is the only female out of 9 of them! She is 7 weeks old, and 9 lbs. Roxie, Penny's mom is 40 lbs. Penny may be anywhere from 35-45 lbs full grown. Penny's foster has been with her since she was just 1 week old, and had the following to say about her: "Penny is the supermodel puppy, she stuns everyone she meets with her little wrinkly face and stunning blue/green eyes. Penny is the perfect mix of feisty and sweet. She loves to play and wrestle with her big brothers, but will also sit on your lap and give you lots of puppy breath kisses. Penny would fit anyone dedicated to giving her lots of love, attention, and playtime!" Penny is a social little girl, and is ready to find her forever home! Since Penny is just a puppy, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. She will form firm bonds with her family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Penny, being so young, has only had 1 vaccine. She has also been fully vetted and dewormed twice. It is SO important to know that Penny cannot go out on public ground until she has her last 2 booster shots. This means no walks, and be sure to avoid public grass. Farfel's does not cover any vaccines after pick up, however we DO cover the full cost of Penny's spay. Penny is too young to be spayed right now, but when she is 6-8 months old we will cover the full cost. Spay is REQUIRED to finalize any adoption. Per the state of Colorado, the adopter is legally considered a foster until the dog is spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
