(Yes, she did take a full nap on 0.2 miles into a walk.)3. Getting pets and affection from her humans.4. Having a confident dog friend to help her learn to be a dog again.5. Munching on grass and sticks.Peanut’s Least Favorite Things:1.Loud noises and chaos.2.Being forced to go somewhere when she’s scared.3.Spooky cars a.While she’s wonderful inside of them, she will need help into them. She will also walk in a wide circle around them possibly due to some past trauma.What Peanut Will Bring to the Table:1. Dog-friendlya.She loves having a companion around to build her confidence. b.When she plays with other dogs, her favorite move is a technique she’s refined, which I call “the wall” move. She’ll lumber after the other dog and then stand completely still. Other dogs will bounce right off her.2. House-traineda.Does her business right when you let her out, but you might need to stand with her to give her reassurance.3. Working on going into the crate on command.a.In the crate, she is quiet and doesn’t paw at the door, settling in quickly.4. Easy on leash. a.Did not pull towards other barking dogs, horses, or chickens. Just initially curious.b.Slow walker, no pulling when she’s by herself. If she has a dog friend on the walk, she might pull mildly at the beginning, but settles in quickly once she tires, which is pretty quickly.b.She might get spooked and “pancakes,” politely telling you that she’s reached her threshold. Just be patient.b.Harness recommended simply due to her size.5.Takes treats gently and is overall a sweet, gentle dog.6.Very quiet. a.Only heard her bark once since she’s been with us.7. Not a jumper. Hasn’t even tried to jump onto any of our furniture. a.If she wants more pets, she might put a paw on your leg. Most of the time, she’ll stare mournfully into your soul.8.No signs of aggression or resource-guarding behavior that I’ve observed.a.You can take a bone or toy right out of her mouth if needed.9. Tolerates nail clippings and bath time.a.Emphasis on “tolerates.” Doesn’t love it but will let you manage her.10.
